I Have Studied Bsc Nutrition With Foundation Degree For...

I have studied BSc Nutrition with foundation degree for four years at South Wales University Newport. The course covered various aspects related to health and nutrition and included a variety of scientific modules. During my time in university I expanded my debating, discussion and presentation skills, and studying modules such as health psychology and applied nutrition have improved my communication and analytical skills. These opportunities have greatly helped develop my capacity for thinking creatively about how to promote healthy lifestyles. I have been a Health Link worker for two years which involves, translating, advocacy, visiting new mothers and creating health checks for patients. As a health link worker I see patients individually as well as in group settings to deliver health services in different languages. I ensure that patients receive the best possible health service and make sure they fully understand their health condition. I worked in a multi-disciplinary team both within the hospital and in the community, which included working with health visitors, midwifes and occupational therapist. I would visit clients in their homes and assist them with meal times, shopping and other daily needs to inspire confidence, encourage them and reassure them. It was a rewarding experience to see the positive impact I had on people’s lives.
